Praying in response to the coronavirus

We are pausing our Sunday morning and Wednesday night services temporarily, until recommended otherwise. Information about online services is listed below.

Our Reading Room will remain open for business for a limited number of people at a time during our regularly scheduled hours.

Our prayers, however, are never on pause! Prayer is an active listening to God that is always available, no matter where we are or what our circumstances. As Christian Scientists, we have demonstrated — through thousands of verified testimonies of healing — the power of God in daily life. Complete healings of all types of illness, including viruses, fill the pages of our publications and our Wednesday evening church meetings.

Our Reading Room is open for all to come and ask questions, read quietly, and feel the peaceful atmosphere of an inspired place free from fear. Our Reading Room is open:

Mondays – 12:00 pm to 3:00 pm
Wednesdays 12:00 pm to 7:30 pm
Fridays – 12:00 pm to 3:00 pm
Sundays – 11:00 am to 2:00 pm

Every Wednesday night we hold a testimony meeting for the public from 7:30 to 8:30 pm in our church. All are welcome to come and hear readings on a timely topic from the Bible and from Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy, sing hymns, listen to testimonies from members of the congregation and share in giving thanks to God.

In addition:

Bible Study: On the first and third Wednesday of every month, we gather at 6 p.m. for Bible Study before our Wednesday evening meetings. All are welcome to these informal gatherings to share our love of the Bible.

Bible Lesson Study: On the second and fourth Wednesday of each month we study that week’s Christian Science Bible Lesson from 6 pm to 7 pm. The timely subject for today’s meeting (April 8) is: “Are Sin, Disease and Death Real?”

Online Mother Church Testimony Meeting: On the first, second and third Wednesdays of each month, we will play the recorded meeting of the Mother Church testimony meeting for that week between 5:30 and 7:00 pm.

All are welcome!

Come to a Wednesday evening meeting about Christian healing

First Church of Christ, Scientist, Reno

All are welcome to our church home on Peckham Lane in Reno, Nevada.

Would you like to hear an example of a healing in Christian Science?
Every Wednesday evening at 7:30 we hold meetings where members and visitors can share their prayer-based healing experiences.

The meetings start with a 20-minute reading from The Holy Bible and from Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, by Mary Baker Eddy. We sing hymns and then the congregation has time to share insights and healings they’ve had through the application of Christian Science.

Everyone is welcome to attend these meetings. They last one hour and we provide childcare in our nursery.

Any questions? Call our Church and Reading Room at 775-829-8117.

Welcome to the Christian Science church in Reno

IMG_1204We hope you’ll visit one of our services — held every Sunday at 10 am and every Wednesday evening at 7:30 pm — to join us in worshipping God and loving all humanity. We welcome your children in our Sunday School and invite you to visit our Reading Room. All are welcome to our church.

The purpose of the Christian Science church is to practice and support Christian healing, spiritual discovery and unselfed love. Christian Science, discovered by Mary Baker Eddy, refers to the universal, practical system of spiritual, prayer-based healing available and accessible to everyone. It is based on Christ Jesus’s teachings and starts with the premise that God is Love.

Our services last for an hour and all are welcome. We hold Sunday School for children up to the age of 20 at the same time as our Sunday service (10 am), and child care is available at all our services.

We are located at the corner of West Peckham and Warren Way. We look forward to your visit! (Our address is 795 West Peckham Lane, Reno, NV 89509.)
